Hypnosis for Sex Problems: 2019-2024
“I live in Sydney, Australia and was looking for a world-class program and training in Sex Education and Hypnosis. Dr Amy Marsh was an absolute stand out in this space! I took her course and was continually amazed and impressed with the amount of evidence-based research she presents on the subject and the thorough and extensive approach she takes. She’s the best in the biz.” — Deb Agnew, BSc Psych, Dip Hyp, Dip Psy, Better Anxiety Help, 2023.
“I loved the course. Dr. Amy helped me to be a better sex therapist and person. Her encouragement, supportive way of acting and availability to listen and help are really remarkable. She made me feel more connected to my practice, my clients and their issues. At the same time, the scientific part of the training was not neglected and I had strong science foundation to the new things that I’ve learned. Those things changed a lot my professional life in a positive way.” — Marcos Carvalho, Ph.D., Brazil, 2020.
“It was a joy and pleasure to work with Dr. Marsh. The wealth of information combined with their extensive experience made the training for Sexological Hypnosis easily accessible and comprehensive.” — Desirée N. Robinson, Ph.D., LCSW-C, CST. Your Heart’s Desire Therapy & Wellness, Maryland, 2020.

“Dr. Marsh’s Hypnosis for Sex Problems course was exactly what I was looking for and has been a boon to my practice. It’s something much needed in the market: for established hypnotherapists, it covers a broad spectrum of human sexual issues, including sensitive and up-to-date information about non-traditional relationships, orientations, and gender expression. Sexuality coaches and therapists will learn how hypnosis can help resolve many of the concerns their clients present with and/or enhance their sexual pleasure, more efficiently and effectively than conversation or home exercises alone. The course is packed with resources and useful instruction that I was immediately able to incorporate into my practice. Dr. Marsh is an engaging, responsive, and approachable instructor and mentor with impressive expertise in both sexology and hypnosis. My class included hypnotists, sex coaches, and therapists with varying degrees of experience and diverse interests, yet the course content and discussions were structured to bring value to them all. The resources and handouts are priceless.” — Teri Temple, CH, Point Break Hypnosis, Florida, 2023.

IASHS Intimate Hypnosis Graduates: 2012- 2015
My two week training with Dr. Amy RW Marsh at IASHS, San Francisco was one of a kind. I still have those days deep on my heart and mind and try being as patient and helpful she had been with us. She is a great instructor and very intuitive person like knowing the exact technique for each situation. She taught us Clinical Hypnosis skills for sexual dysfunctions. I am grateful I can help people millions of miles away after this Course. Her style and peaceful tone are one of a kind. I am thankful I have been part in this amazing life journey of knowledge and inner transformation. — Smae Kyriazides, Therapist, Greece, 2014.

The Intimate Hypnosis Class at IASHS
I created, researched, and taught the Intimate Hypnosis-Sexological Hypnosis Skills program at the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, in San Francisco, from March 2012-May 2015, as an elective certificate course. This course was based on my research and course design for my Ed.D. in Human Sexuality (2011). (My book, Sexological Hypnosis: Overview, Theory, and Technique (2022), is based on that Ed.D. project.)
Graduates completed a 150-hour training in sexology, hypnosis, and the uses of hypnosis for sexual problems and enrichment. Some graduates of this program also completed the NGH hypnosis certification (see list above). (IASHS also added a 150-hour Associate in Sex Education Certificate to this program.)
Sadly, as of 2017, IASHS was no longer approved to offer degree programs by the CA Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education. By 2018, IASHS had closed. It was the end of an era in sexological history and also the end of a very formative period in my adult life.
